Tariffs Are Crushing Tennessee Farms

Donald Trump promised to bring prices down and help the economy.

But now he’s jacking up costs with reckless tariffs, making it harder for small farmers, rural families, and working people to make ends meet — while blaming everyone but himself.

We don’t need more finger-pointing. We need real solutions:

  • Lower costs for the families who grow our food

  • Open markets for our farms and small businesses

  • Investments in rural communities, not trade chaos

Trump’s trade war isn’t helping — it’s hurting.
And farmers are done paying the price.

Dear President Trump:

Tariffs are hurting Tennessee farmers. When you promised to bring prices down and help the economy, we believed you. But, in your first 100 days, we have seen our costs rise, and a reckless tariff strategy that has made it harder for small farmers, rural families and working people to make ends meet.

What we need are real solutions:

  • Lower costs for the families who grow our food
  • Open markets for our farms and small businesses
  • Investments in rural communities, not trade chaos

Farmers and working people in Tennessee know that tariffs aren't a tax on other countries: tariffs are a tax on the American people. Small farmers, rural families and working people are caught in the middle - paying more for essentials like groceries, clothes and electronics, while at the same time raising the cost  of essential inputs and supplies that farmers need to grow their crops and make a living to support our families.

This has to stop. Small farmers are the backbone of our rural communities in Tennessee, and an economic engine for all of Tennessee.  We are calling on you to protect small farmers, stop the chaos, and put us front and center.
